Endometriosis Support Program

This is a holistic program that covers all other aspects of care for women with endometriosis. It involves paramedical services specialised for endometriosis. Our paramedical staffs that are trained in endometriosis care involves:

Dietitian

Endometriosis is about the imbalances in our female hormones. Oestrogen stimulates endometriosis while progestogens suppress it. All these hormones can be found in our daily food sources. Having a dietitian that will educate and also look into your daily food intake can help in prevention of recurrence of disease.

Endometriosis causes pain by causing inflammation to the surrounding tissues of the organs involved. Anti-inflammatory disease is important for women who had not had a complete surgical excision to help reduce the pain.

Physiotherapy

Muscle spasm is our body’s reaction to any injury, diseases or pain. And, muscle spasm causes pain. Many women with endometriosis, due to their prolonged suffering, their muscles are very tense and can cause pain to persist even after complete excision of disease. To prevent that, a physiotherapist trained in women’s health and chronic pelvic pain can help to release those muscles involved and return all the pelvic muscle into a balanced state.

Psychological therapy

Stress also causes muscle spasm and thus pain. Women with long term endometriosis have highly sensitised muscle that goes into spasm easily everytime there is any inflammation caused by endometriosis. After excision of all disease, these muscles go into spasm easily with any trigger. Stress can trigger these muscles. Physiotherapy may help to stretch and release the muscles but stress will trigger it back. These women enter a vicious cycle of muscle spasm, pain, muscle release, stress, muscle spasm, pain again. Psychological therapy helps to break the cycle by helping these women handle all her stresses in life.
